Tarekech Werash is an exceptional producer from the Gedeb-Chelchele region, part of the Lalisaa Project, which supports Ethiopian farmers in improving the quality of their crops and establishing direct relationships with roasters around the world.

She founded her farm in 1990 with her husband, Fikadu, passionately building a reputation as one of the most dedicated producers in the Yirgacheffe region. On approximately 5 hectares, she cultivates coffee under the shade of trees, at an altitude of over 2,000 meters above sea level, in fertile, rich volcanic soil.

The farm is run in the spirit of regenerative agriculture – Tarekech makes its own natural compost, avoids chemical fertilizers, and plants successive generations of local heirloom varieties. Harvesting is done by hand, and the fruit is dried on bamboo platforms for 18–24 days, preserving its natural sweetness and clarity of flavor.
